Meet Steph Prem, EpZen Wellness Ambassador

Meet Steph Prem, EpZen Wellness Ambassador, who shares her top tips for self care, running your own business and reconnecting to calm

Steph Prem is a Winter Olympian, motivational speaker, entrepreneur and one of Australia’s leading experts in health and wellness. She is an advocate for leading a healthy and active lifestyle and EpZen’s wellness ambassador.

Steph started using EpZen in 2018 when she was struggling with chronic back pain and was advised to take nightly magnesium bath soaks to assist with the pain management, she discovered EpZen and has used it ever since.

Going back to 2010, Steph was a five-time national snowboarding champion and had just represented Australia in the snowboard cross event at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Just eight weeks later at the Snowboard World Cup, a horrific accident off a 60-foot jump resulted in Steph suffering extensive injuries in the fall, including fractured vertebrae, broken ribs, a dislocated hip and a torn hamstring. It took her five years of rehabilitation to get back to good health, both physically and mentally.

After rebuilding her body, she became a clinical Pilates instructor,   opening her own studio, Studio PP (@studiopp_) in 2013. Steph knows that running your own business is challenging. She thinks the best reward is not just the success of your business, but your own personal health and ability to enjoy and endure those ups and downs.

Steph’s top five tips for running your own business:

  1. Back yourself 110%
  2. Prioritize your physical and mental health
  3. Ask for help
  4. Remind yourself you don’t have to have all the answers
  5. Get a coach for support and accountability (business coach, life coach, health coach)

Steph’s recovery was a long one and a testament to her character. Her ‘go-to’ for any muscle aches and pains is a long soak in a warm bath with EpZen magnesium bath crystals to assist with sore or overworked muscles and support overall recovery. If she doesn’t have access to a bath, she simply has an EpZen magnesium foot soak to help aid circulation. Magnesium is an important nutrient for regulating a lot of the body’s processes including muscle and nerve function, blood-sugar levels and blood pressure.

She’s also a self-care advocate pointing out that adding music, meditation and candles to a bath setting can be the ultimate ritual for reconnection and self-care.

Steph’s top five tips for prioritising self care:

  1. Develop a strong and positive mindset
  2. Moderate exercise every day
  3. Make time for recovery (mental + physical)
  4. Hot foot spa to assist with sleep and relaxation
  5. Use blue light glasses and EpZen sleep magnesium body spray in the evenings to ensure a good night’s sleep

Steph is very aware that magnesium is responsible for regulating melatonin, which plays a huge part in getting a quality night’s sleep.

Numero uno is the EpZen Relax Magnesium Bath Crystals (guilty of using 3-4 bags a bath)

Also really like the EpZen Soothe Magnesium Foot Soak too.  It’s so perfect for when I don’t have time or have access to a bath.

Fingers crossed for New Zealand in August for some snowboarding.

Record number of female and indigenous athletes from Australia competing in the Olympics this year.

A Pop Star.
